Mixing

1. Put in measured amount of water, sufficient to more than cover the bottom of the bucket
2. Add required quantity of lamb milk powder
3. Add remainder of hot water to bring to correct concentration
4. Mix at 420C, feed at 400C

Machine Feeding

1. Calibrate the machine to feed at a concentration of 175 – 200g per litre
2. Offer 2-3 bottles of 125ml (depending on the size of the lamb) each feed, to encourage
lambs to suckle from teat
3. Introduce the lamb to the machine system and ensure they suck from the teat
4. Observe lambs regularly and ensure all are feeding normally

Cool Ad Lib Feeding

Mix and feed at a concentration of 200g per litre. Add required amount of powder to warm water (approx. half of the total mix). Stir vigorously. Add remaining (cold) water to achieve correct quantity and concentration.

1. Offer 2 warm bottle-feeds of 125ml (depending on the size of the lamb) to encourage them
to suckle from the teat
2. Offer 2 bottle-feeds using cool or tepid water to encourage lambs to drink cold milk
3. Introduce lambs to teat on cold ad lib system and ensure lambs suckle from the teat
4. Observe lambs regularly and ensure all are feeding normally

In all feeding situations ensure lambs have free access to fresh drinking water, hay and concentrate at all times.
